The Cottage was renovated in the spring of 2000. It is available for daily, weekly, or monthly rental. It has a living room/dining room combination, a kitchen, one bedroom, a large bathroom with a washer and dryer, and a deck overlooking the 5+ acre pasture and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The interior decor and furnishings were professionally designed by the innkeeper to evoke the feeling of relaxed comfort found in many country homes.

The Cottage is separated from the main house, has its own entrance, and is located far enough from Oakwood for total privacy. The Cottage comes with all of the ingredients for a full breakfast, which you prepare on your own time schedule - after a lazy morning or for a lovely sunrise treat on the deck. The fully equipped kitchen is ready for your next meal, if you choose to do it yourself, or you can enjoy the area's restaurants.
